5 Step Lawn Treatment Program

Get Started Today

For most of our customers, we provide a five-step program that combines three granular slow-release fertilizers and two liquid treatments of premium turf fertilizer, with control products included for surface-feeding insects, broad leaf weeds and the prevention of crabgrass and summer weeds. We begin in the early spring. Thereafter, your treatments are applied approximately five to seven weeks apart, with your last treatment coming late September or October. Don’t forget to check out our healthy lawn tips to make the most out of your property

Step 1: Spring Application: April – Early May

  • Granular, slow release fertilizer to promote spring growth, color and thickness.
  • Pre-emergent crabgrass control applied at the maximum rate for extra protection later in the season.
  • Lawn inspection and prescribed recommendations.

Step 2: Late Spring Application: Late April – Early June

  • Liquid or slow release granular fertilizer strengthens and prepares the lawn for the warmer summer weather ahead.
  • Liquid broadleaf weed control for most all common weeds that are present in the lawn.
  • Lawn inspection and prescribed recommendations.

Step 3: Summer Application: Mid June – July

  • Granular, slow release fertilizer supports the lawn throughout the dry, hot weather. It is 50 percent Poly Plus® sulfur coated to ensure slow breakdown in order to prevent burning.
  • Grub Control, if ordered as a supplemental service, is applied with this visit.

Step 4: Late Summer Application: August – Mid September

  • Granular, slow release fertilizer with iron and 50 percent Poly Plus® sulfur coated for added protection through the last of the hot weather and for quick recovery as rain and cooler temperatures return.
  • Broadleaf weed control, formulated for hard-to-control summer weeds, applied as needed.
  • Lawn inspection and prescribed recommendations.
